Bassist Chris Kent recorded with artists like Lorrie Morgan and Stevie Wonder during a career that ended with his passing at the age of 44 in October 2011. In 2009, Morgan organized a benefit show to help raise money for Kent's battle with cancer. Vince Gill, Joe Diffie and Tracy Lawrence were amongst the headliners. In addition to his country recordings, he also was a household name in R&B and jazz studios, having worked with Toni Braxton and Dizzy Gillespie. Kent is survived by his wife Lisa and their two children.
