Chris Lane and Nelly are becoming fast friends on the road this summer as part of Florida Georgia Line's Smooth Tour. Nelly jokes that he stays close to the "For Her" singer because he attracts women.

“I’m going to be hanging out with him because he’s going to get all the girls,” the rapper tells People. “He’s got the hair going, he’s the young kid — I can already see where this is going.”

With or without Lane by his side, Nelly is surely having fun on the tour, which also includes newcomer Morgan Wallen and the Backstreet Boys on select dates.

“We’re backstage doing it all — barbecuing, a little bit of other stuff I’m not going to say,” Nelly adds. “It’s a fun vibe, and the thing I love about FGL is their appreciation for all kinds of music. They’re country artists but they’re real fans of music, period, across the board. They know their hip-hop. They know their R&B. They know their pop.”

Florida Georgia Line know their boy bands, too — the country duo have previously confessed their love for the Backstreet Boys. The '90s boy band appear on their latest single "God, Your Mama, And Me," and FGL say they were drawn to the track the moment they heard it.

“‘God, Your Mama, and Me’ is just such a well-written song," Tyler Hubbard said in a video posted to Instagram. "A song that when we heard it, we fell in love with it. We never really heard it said that way, you know, and heard it put that way, but it’s so true and that’s how we felt about our wives and just naturally drawn to that song."
