From the moment Chris Young set eyes on his beloved dog Porter back in December of 2017, the two have been smitten with one another. However, the adorable puppy found himself in a heap of trouble recently.

It happened on the tour bus.

"I had put everything up in the back and everything was hidden and in drawers,” Young tells Taste of Country Nights' Sam Alex, "The only thing that he could get to that smelled like me was my bed. He did not take the covers off. He Pac-man’d right though. Like he sat at head height and just chewed through the center of the mattress. He chewed a hole in it."

Not only did Porter chew up his master's bed, but he fought his way there, as he somehow managed to escape his crate to wreak havoc.

"He was Houdini there for about three weeks," Young explains. "He was driving me nuts. “Now he’s in something that looks like puppy prison. He’s in this steel, four foot 2-inch kennel that’s got these locks and quarter moon latches. He figured out how to get two of those open."

This recent incident means that Porter might need to spend a little more time in training. For now, Young says the almost 1-year-old puppy will not be sleeping in his bed with him anytime soon.

"If that dog pees in the bed with me, he’ll never sleep in the bed with me again," says Young, laughing.

The country star — and Porter — head back out on his Losing Sleep World Tour Friday (Nov. 2) in Detroit alongside openers Morgan Evans and Dan + Shay.
