Fans do get to decide who country music's top vocalist is this awards season. Taste of Country is giving readers a voice to choose the Top Male Vocalist, Top Female Vocalist and then overall Top Vocalist. It begins right now with this matchup between Chris Young and Charles Kelley.

The 16 finalists were chosen from the most active men and women in country music right now. For this reason, legends like Alan Jackson and George Strait weren't considered, but newcomers like Brett Eldredge and Kelley (a new soloist) get a shot.

Young's resume includes hits like "Gettin' You Home" and "You." He jokes that each record he promises he won't push himself higher. Songs like "Think of You" on the I'm Comin' Over album prove he doesn't know how to quit, not that we're complaining.

Kelley turns in a Grammy nominated performance on "The Driver," the title track from his debut solo album. Each of the remaining songs on the project serve as a reminder of what the Lady A singer is capable of. His remarkable range and interpretation makes him a strong candidate to unseat Young, who some may consider a favorite on the men's side.

Vote up to once every hour until this round closes on Sunday (March 13) at 11:59PM ET. The winner will move on to face either Vince Gill or Blake Shelton.
