Congratulations to Aaron Watson, who has entered the Showdown Hall of Fame with his latest single, "Bluebonnets." We're starting fresh today and over the weekend with a face-off between two of the hottest young male performers in country music -- Cole Swindell and Brett Eldredge.

Swindell is coming off a string of five No. 1 hits, and "Middle of a Memory" could very well be the next one. It's a song about an instant attraction that's just not to be, and everyone can relate to the ballad's aching regret and feeling of what might have been.

Eldredge is also coming off a crazy streak of hits, but his new single, "Wanna Be That Song," could still be a risk, since he's released a power ballad going into summer, when up-tempo fun songs are more likely for country radio. But the song is so well-written, and Eldredge's vocal performance so strong, that it might make no difference once his legions of fans get on board. Only one of these worthy songs can move on to the next round in the Showdown.

Listen to clips of both Swindell and Eldredge’s songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Monday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Monday.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online. If a song wins five Showdowns in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
