Cole Swindell's Down Home Sessions III is just days away from release, so we brought the singer to the Taste of Country Nights studio to chat about it. He admits that he releases these EPs with one focus: the fans!

The 2016 Down Home Sessions mini-album is the third of this kind, coinciding with his third annual Down Home Tour. Even though this is the third time he's done this, Swindell is as excited as ever.

“This year’s was a little different for the timing, having a studio album just come out in May and to be putting out an EP this soon," the Georgia native explains. "I didn’t know if I wanted to do that, but to not do it would mean to not do this tour ... that’s something that I want to build and continue to do ... The fact that my label, Warner Brothers, just lets me do my own EP and doing it all for the fans is the one thing that made me go, ‘No we’re doing this again this year and the next year.’”

Swindell loves giving these fans not only new music, but also the experience that comes with the EP and the tour collectively.

“I just really had to say, ‘This has nothing to do with the studio album. This is all for the fans and this tour.’ It makes a unique experience for these shows knowing you won’t hear it anywhere else other than really this tour and we get to play them live. It’s for me and the fans," he says.

Down Home Sessions III drops on Oct. 28 and is now available for preorder. Swindell's tour kicks off on Oct. 26 — tickets are available on his website.
