Colt Ford and Tim McGraw go hand in hand like peanut butter and pickles -- a little weird when you first hear about it, but delicious once you actually give it a taste. Ford's song, 'Twisted,' a track from his new album, 'Every Chance I Get,' features a generous helping of Mr. McGraw to satisfy those taste buds with something a bit different.

On this track, Ford doesn't know whether or not to walk away from his small town life and family for the dream of a big city lifestyle, and asks in the second verse, "Is it wrong to want to leave the only place that I've known?"

Ford lays down his typical southern rap stylings while McGraw offers the back-up and brings the chorus, which sums up his buddy's confusion about life: "Lord, I'm twisted / I feel the stress that's hangin' on me / And all this pain in my family / They all depend on me / Lord, I'm twisted."

Throughout the song, the 'Country Thang' hitmaker asks for advice on what to do, and eventually finds his way out to L.A. Naturally, before long he's ready to return to his roots and realizes that home is where the heart is. He sings: "When I order some sweet tea they start laughing at me / Boy, this new life ain't what I thought it would be," and finishes the verse with, "I'm packed and headed back to the place I was born / Proud to be country and no longer torn."

Ford doesn't let the song go quiet without offering a piece of advice to his fellow country fans who may be struggling to find themselves in life. "Everybody find your place in life, be proud of who you are," he speaks at the closing. "Don't let nothing hold you back."

We like the way Ford was able to mesh his own off-beat style with McGraw's classic country, and think this track would make for a great single down the road. All in all, it's two thumbs up from Taste of Country.

'Twisted' is one of many collaborations between the country-rapper and big name music stars -- the album also boasts featured artists Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Charlie Daniels, Frankie Ballard, Josh Thompson and many more. 'Every Chance I Get' is in stores now, and you can also pick up a copy over at iTunes.
