Country Stars and Their Moms – Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton's mother Dorothy is one of the singer's best friends. The tall country hitmaker paid her a major compliment last Mother's Day when he told CMT, "When my mom pulls into the driveway, I don't roll my eyes like a lot of people do when they see their mom coming. I'm excited because she's so much fun to be around, the older I get, especially."

Dorothy is a retired hairdresser who shares her son's love of the outdoors. She tried to stand in his way when he wanted to move Nashville at age 17, though she stepped aside quickly. "She is protective and a worry wart, but she's also smart enough to know that had she tried to stand in my way, we probably would have gotten sideways over it," he admits. Nowadays Shelton has another mom in mother-in-law Bev Lambert.
