Over the last decade, once reliable country superstars like Clint Black, Travis Tritt and Shania Twain have all but vanished. Sure, they may pop up on reality television or record an occasional duet, but with each passing year, fans are left hungry for new music from these former icons.

While the circumstances behind their disappearing act are quite different -- Garth Brooks says he's "retired" -- the absence of artists like Tritt and the Dixie Chicks have left a hole on the radio for many fans.
