The highly anticipated film 'Country Strong' hit theaters nationwide over the weekend, bringing in Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow fans alike. But despite its star-studded cast -- which also includes Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester -- the film failed to reach the Top 5, earning the sixth spot at the box office with $7,300,000 when its production budget was $15 million.

Surpassing 'Country Strong' was 'Black Swan' with $8,350,000, 'TRON: Legacy' -- which also stars Hedlund -- with $9,830,0001, 'Season of the Witch' with $10,726,000, 'Little Fockers' with $13,781,250 and 'True Grit' earning $15,000,000.

'Country Strong' tells the story of the fallen country star Kelly Canter (Paltrow), who, with the help of her husband and manager James Canter (McGraw) as well as up-and-coming singers Beau Hutton (Hedlund) and Chiles Stanton (Meester), attempts to revive her career. Cliched themes of drinking, depression and love triangles encircle the film while the four embark on a national tour.
