Craig Morgan vs. Dan + Shay – The Showdown

Craig Morgan and his fans came from behind to edge out George Strait's new song earlier this week. 'Wake Up Lovin' You,' a ballad from Morgan's new 'The Journey (Livin' Hits)' album, took 57 percent of the vote to move on to a new round of the Showdown against country newcomers Dan + Shay. 

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney are two musicians who met while working with other bands in Nashville. They quickly put their ideas and harmonies together to craft a debut single that's catching fire on radio. '19 You + Me' was a record setter its first week of release. They're new and not as well-known as their competition, so the duo will need full fan participation to move forward.

If a song wins five Showdowns in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
