Crystal Bowersox may have thought she was just going to the Grand Ole Opry last Friday night to enjoy the show. However, before the night was over, the 'American Idol' runner-up ended up performing on the famous stage herself.

According to USA Today, Bowersox was backstage with 'Idol' pal Bo Bice enjoying the Oak Ridge Boys when the Opry's general manager, Pete Fisher, asked if he could tell the audience that she was there.

With her permission, he did so, and the place went so wild with applause that the evening's host, Vince Gill, decided to bring her on stage. As he presented Bowersox he told the crowd, "We do things out here for an awful lot of different reasons, but one is spontaneity, one is fun. I went to the management and said, 'Why don't we do the Southern gentlemanly thing and invite her to sing a song on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry?'"

Bowersox sang 'Mine All Mine' and quickly earned herself a standing ovation. Backstage a bit later on, she exclaimed, "I'm over the moon! I'm just completely beside myself. Tonight, Vince made one of those lifelong dreams come true!"
