Wille Nelson's longtime bassist Dan 'Bee' Spears died in December 2011 after apparently slipping and falling at his property in Nashville. The 62-year-old died of exposure to the elements. In addition to playing onstage with Nelson for over 40 years, he also played on several of the singer's most crucial albums like 'The Troublemaker,’ ‘Shotgun Willie' and ‘The Redhead Stranger.' He also played with Roy Clark and Waylon Jennings during a career that began with Nelson when he was just 19-years-old.
