Dan + Shay went out of their way to say thanks to fans who braved the cold while waiting to get into one of their shows in Ohio on Friday (Dec. 9).

The "How Not To" singers awoke to find that fans in Columbus had lined up as early as 8AM in freezing weather for their sold-out show at the Newport Music Hall, so they decided to express their gratitude for their overwhelming support in person. They made a quick run to a local Starbuck's and brought hot chocolate down to the shivering fans.

The duo caused quite a commotion when they walked up, with one girl covering her face with her hands and screaming, while others grabbed their phones to capture the unexpected moment. The guys stayed to chat, sign autographs and pose for pictures with some of their most ardent supporters before going on about their day.

Dan + Shay have a special relationship with their fans, which actually resulted in the title for their sophomore album, Obsessed. It's a description that the singers had seen fans use online in anticipation of the project, and the music has delivered on those expectations, scoring a No. 1 hit with its lead single, "From the Ground Up." Dan + Shay recently extended the tour in support of the album into 2017.

The duo have plenty to celebrate on the personal side, too. Shay Mooney got engaged in August, and in October he and his fiancee, Hannah Billingsley, revealed they are expecting their first child. In November Dan Smyers announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend, Abby Law.
