Danny Gokey to Appear in New Movie ‘Truth Be Told’

Danny Gokey reveals that he is appearing in an upcoming made-for-TV movie. Besides writing songs for his upcoming album and working on his charity, Sophia's Heart, Gokey has just made a cameo in a film that’s coming out on FOX.

The movie, called 'Truth Be Told,' is part of a partnership with Wal-Mart and Proctor and Gamble. Gokey tells Taste of Country, "They are doing a series of 12 major TV movies, and they air once a month on a Sunday night. They’re trying to get back to family night. It’s very family-oriented with a very hopeful theme."

"I just went out there and did some recording," he adds. "They’re picking my music to kind of be the background music of the movie, I made an appearance in it and had a couple of little speaking lines too. It was awesome. I definitely would love to get into acting and stuff."

Gokey says that on the shoot, he met a few actors he really liked, like Candace Cameron and James Elliot. Quarterback Kurt Warner also make an appearance in the movie.

"Acting, music and my non-profit are the three things I want to be totally immersed in," Gokey explains.

Gokey's next gig is on Feb. 19 in Annapolis, Md. at the Rams Head Tavern.
