Dean Brody is exhorting his listeners about the importance of spending their lives wisely in the powerful new video for his current single, "Time."

The song is the latest single from his current album, Beautiful Freakshow, and he released it to country radio in his native Canada on Nov. 18, hoping to make listeners stop and think about the importance of spending time with family and friends over the holidays. Within a week, the song became the most-added track across all formats in Canada.

The video for the song picks up on that theme, beginning with a few comments from young people as to what they do to waste their time and why they feel that there's plenty of time in front of them. But the song argues otherwise, urging listeners to make the most of the time they do have.

"The trouble is, you think you have time / You think tomorrow's always coming down the line / Then one day you wake up and you find / The trouble is, you thought you had time," Brody sings.

The video underscores those themes, using some personal stories interspersed with footage of Brody singing, and employing some symbolism in the form of a mysterious door that appears in some unexpected settings. The singer filmed the video in his native province of BC in Canada, where he worked acclaimed director Stephano Barberis.

"With ‘Time’, I didn’t want to simply act out the storyline in each verse," Barberis says. "When people listen to the song, they automatically relate to it in their own individual way, and I wanted the music video to reflect that."

Brody is one of the biggest stars in country music in Canada, where he has won two Juno Awards, including Country Album of the Year in 2016. His most recent platinum single, "Bring Down the House," is the best-selling country single of all time in Canada. "Time" is already following in those footsteps, reaching No. 1 on the Canadian country charts and No. 5 overall on iTunes, and already earning 250,000 streams on Spotify.
