May 2017 is a month Nashville-based singer-songwriter Devin Dawson will surely never forget. Dawson made his national television debut on Late Night With Seth Meyers on May 4, and the following night, made his Opry debut.

While a musical guest for the Late Night With Seth Meyers, the singer performed his debut single "All on Me" with his band. Dawson smoothly crooned the song, in which he instructs a girl to lay all her problems on him. At ease on the stage, Dawson's performance was a hint of what's to come from the hot country newcomer.

The California native is creating a buzz throughout the music scene. He was recently nominated as the Association of Independent Music Publisher’s Rising Independent Artist-Writer of the Year, and he's also set to join Tim McGraw and Faith Hill on tour later this summer, opening select dates on their Soul2Soul run.

Dawson grew up just outside the gates of Folsom Prison and draws musical inspiration from Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Marvin Gaye and Creedence Clearwater Revival. The singer moved to Nashville in 2012 and is readying his debut album, due out later this year. For the project, he teamed with producer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town, Brothers Osborne), but Dawson co-wrote every track on the release, which has been described as "a mix of organic roots and high-voltage country, full of romance and delivered with a distinctive saw-toothed vocal."
