Te 2012 Super Bowl takes place on Feb. 5 in Indianapolis, and the city is taking the hosting of the NFL event seriously. The powers-that-be have invited some country stars to be a part of the festivities. The city's Pan Am Plaza is being turned into something called Super Bowl Village from Jan. 27 through Feb. 4, and country stars Dierks Bentley and Darius Rucker are on board to perform during those dates. Bentley and Rucker are essentially on the entertainment road leading up to the actual big game.

The lineup for Super Bowl Village is eclectic, with pop, soul, R&B and rock acts filling out the bills. For a complete listing of the acts that will be performing at the Super Bowl Village, go here. Rucker is a noted sports fan who often calls into (and sends texts to) ESPN's national morning drive radio and TV show 'Mike and Mike' to talk about gridiron happenings, so performing at a Super Bowl-sanctioned event is certainly right up the singer's alley.

In other pre-Super Bowl XLVI events, singer Sara Evans will also be on hand for the Taste of NFL 21st Anniversary Party With a Purpose. That event takes place on Feb. 4 at Gleaner's Food Bank in Indianapolis. The event raises awareness of food and hunger issues. Go here for more information on that particular party.

Football fans can get ready for some country thanks to the 2012 Super Bowl.
