Dierks Bentley brought new friend and duet partner Elle King to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert earlier this week for a captivating performance of his new single, "Different for Girls."

Dressed in a leather jacket and jeans, Bentley stood at the front of the stage with his acoustic guitar in hand. Beside him, King — also sporting a leather jacket — assisted on the chorus before taking lead on the second verse with her unique, wavering vocals.

Both Bentley and King held the Late Show studio audience in the palm of their hands throughout the song, as shots showed the crowd looking on intently.

"Different for Girls" is the second single off Bentley's latest album, Black. The song was written by Shane McAnally and J.T. Harding.

Bentley recently told Taste of Country he likes King’s music, funny tweets and fiery personality. He also said the singer reminds him of Miranda Lambert. He reached out to King about assisting him on the song and she said yes, so the two headed to Austin, Texas to record.

King admits she was honored when Bentley asked her to be on a song, but said that she gets shy collaborating.

“Since I often write from the male perspective, I was really excited to be a part of someone else’s story that is jumping outside of the norm for a relationship song,” she explains. “The lyrics are really smart and I love that he is bringing a lot of attitude to modern country music."
