Dierks Bentley surprised the crowd with some very special guests when he performed in Nashville on Friday night (Feb. 22). Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert delighted the fans when they came out to jam with Bentley on several classic country songs.

Bentley was performing at the Bridgestone Arena in Music City as part of his 2019  Burning Man Tour when he dropped the surprise. Bentley had texted Urban at the last minute, expecting him to say no, while he and his wife ran into Lambert and her new husband, Brendan Mcloughlin, while they were taking a walk.

The mini-set of covers was a last-minute addition to Bentley's set, prompting Lambert to muse, "This might suck, guys," before they dived in. The newly formed trio kicked off with Hank Williams' "Your Cheatin' Heart," with Bentley singing lead while he and Urban played acoustic guitars and Urban and Lambert provided harmonies.

They ran through Merle Haggard's "Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down" with Bentley singing lead before Urban took a turn singing Loretta Lynn's "Blue Kentucky Girl" with Lambert singing harmony as Bentley took a break, drawing a laugh from the fans as he sat at their feet and enjoyed their performance along with the crowd.

Lambert sang lead on the Dixie Chicks classic "Cowboy, Take Me Away," with Bentley and Urban singing backup. "I love it when boys sing girls' songs!" she exclaimed at the end as the crowd roared. The three friends wrapped the impromptu acoustic set with a reprise of "Your Cheatin' Heart."

The 2019 Burning Man Tour launched in Canada in mid-January, and Bentley has dates booked all the way through Sept. 8 before wrapping up in Sacramento, Calif. Jon Pardi, Tenille Townes and Bentley's '90s cover band, Hot Country Knights, are serving as his opening acts, and newcomer Caylee Hammack will replace Townes at a few shows toward the end of the tour.
