Dierks Bentley Records ‘Weeds’ Theme Song
Even if you're not a fan of Showtime's hit series, 'Weeds,' you're probably familiar with its theme song, 'Little Boxes.' Even hearing a few bars of the little ditty will have you humming the tune all day long. During 'Weeds'' second and third seasons, a number of artists covered the catchy tune for the show. Now, it's about to become even more of an earworm since Dierks Bentley has agreed to record a country version of the song for the series' eighth season!
'Little Boxes' was originally recorded as a folk song about housing developments in San Francisco in 1962. Bentley will join a host of other artists who are covering the tune, including Ben Folds, The Decemberists, Steve Martin, Mountain Goats and more. We're excited to hear all genres of musicians cover the song, but as country music fans, we're obviously most excited to hear Bentley's take on the old song.
The eighth season of 'Weeds' will be the series' last. Luckily, Bentley will have a chance to remake the iconic folk song before the final episode airs. You can tune into this season's ninth episode to hear the country crooner perform 'Little Boxes' as the opening credits roll.
We're not sure when the 'Home' hitmaker actually found time in his busy schedule to record the cover song. Bentley has been playing live shows nearly every night since May, and he's not about to quit living life on the road any time soon. Bentley is playing several back-to-back shows during the next few months. For a complete list of tour dates, click here.
