Dierks Bentley Brings ‘Somewhere on a Beach’ to Jimmy Fallon [Watch]
Everything was just beach-y when Dierks Bentley appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (May 26).
The country star is releasing his new studio album, Black, on Friday (May 27), and he performed the lead single from the project on the show. "Somewhere on a Beach" has already reached No. 1 on both the Billboard and Mediabase charts, giving the singer his 14th career chart topper.
The show featured sit-down interviews with actors Jeff Daniels and Penelope Cruz, according to Headline Planet, as well as additional music from Musiq Soulchild, who sat in with the Roots. Bentley closed out the broadcast with his performance, which marked his third appearance on the Tonight Show and his second as the featured solo musical guest.
The lead single from Black is perfectly-timed to capture the mood of summer.
"'Somewhere on a Beach' is setting up our summer just like we wanted and putting fans in the mood to party out on the tour," Bentley says. "It’s hard to believe your 14th No. 1 hit could be your fastest rising. I’m blown away at the reception of the new music, and I can’t wait to start peeling back more layers of the album with the other songs."
Bentley will officially ring in summer with his Somewhere on a Beach Bash over Memorial Day weekend. The singer will perform on May 30 in Panama City Beach, Fla., at the Spinnaker Beach Bar.
“Memorial Day is the official kick off to summer, and this will be a great way to celebrate the current single and the new album,” Bentley says. “We’ll pack as many people on the beach as we can … probably need to start icing the beer down now!"
