Traditional country is alive and well in Dillon Carmichael. The singer — whose debut album Hell on an Angel arrives on Oct. 26 — has shared "Dancing Away With My Heart," and it's the perfect country love song.

This striking ballad highlights Carmichael's memorable baritone, but it's the feeling that will stick around long after the last note is belted. At just 24, this newcomer has a voice well beyond his years. Carmichael wrote the song with Larry McCoy and Neal Coty and sings of being so lucky in love with his lady.

"Heaven ain't ever seen / An angel like you / With a soul so bright / You light up the room / Nobody's ever gonna love you / The way I do, till death do us part / And there you are / Just dancin away with my heart," he sings on the chorus.

While Carmichael's deep vocals shine on the track, a memorable guitar interlude and striking pedal steel further the emotion felt within his voice and the song's heartfelt lyrics. It's hard to believe that "Dancing Away with My Heart" didn't originally start as a love song.

"I originally wrote it as a break up song and when Dave Cobb and I were picking out songs for the record, Dave heard 'Dancing Away with my Heart' and thought that the melody of the song felt more like a love song," Carmichael explains. "Dave and I agreed that it would be a better love song [so] I went into the corner of the studio and starting rewriting the lyrics for hours. It took a couple of days but it was meant to be a love song. And I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out."

Did You Know?: Carmichael comes from a family of musicians. His uncle, Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, recently introduced him to the audience when he made his Opry debut, and his mother, Becky Montgomery, performed background vocals during that performance.

Dillon Carmichael's Keith Whitley Is Unbelievable:

Dillon Carmichael's "Dancing Away with My Heart" Lyrics:

I've never seen you look / As good as you do right now / Out here / Spinnin around, and around / So beautiful, I can see that smile / The one I adore / And it looks like / You’re looking right back at me and I'm / Thinking how you’re all I need in my life / I've never been so sure

Chorus:

Heaven ain't ever seen / An angel like you / With a soul so bright / You light up the room / Nobody's ever gonna love you / The way I do, till death do us part / And there you are / Just dancin away with my heart

I get to hold you tight / The way that I'm holding you now, I can't / Believe how lucky I am / Here's to / Holding you the rest of my days

Repeat Chorus
