Often referred to as a plot cross between 'Fried Green Tomatoes' and 'Thelma & Louise,' the gutsy video for 'Goodbye Earl' was the first controversial move from the Dixie Chicks in their now altercation-laden career.

Among the familiar faces in the 'Goodbye Earl' video are former 'NYPD Blues' actor Dennis Franz, '30 Rock' star Jane Krakowski and actress Lauren Holly. Natalie Maines' husband, actor Adrian Pasdar, also makes a cameo in the clip as one of the bumbling police officers.

Despite criticism, mainstream press propelled the song into crossover territory, and helped earned 'Goodbye Earl' the CMA and ACM Video of the Year honors in 2000.
