After nearly five years away from the spotlight, the Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines is back with new music. Maines recorded her own version of the Beach Boys' classic tune 'God Only Knows' for the series finale of HBO's hit series 'Big Love.'

Maines laid down her vocals on the tune back in January in Malibu, Calif. with producer Rick Rubin. The track also features Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

Fans of Maines' signature sound will enjoy the new song, and should enjoy it as it might be the only shot of hearing something from the 36-year-old singer. Maines has said in recent months that there are no plans in her near future of recording a solo album. However, Maines' Chicks bandmates, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, formed the Court Yard Hounds in 2010 and released their debut self-titled album last summer.

Fans can purchase Maines' version of 'God Only Knows' starting today, March 15, on iTunes. The song will be featured in the series finale of 'Big Love' on HBO, which is set to air on Sunday, March 20. You can hear her singing it in the video below.
