Dolly Parton's early life will be the subject of another movie that is coming to the small screen, and this time the country music legend will make an appearance.

A TV adaptation of her classic hit "Coat of Many Colors" aired on NBC in December of 2015 and earned some of the biggest ratings broadcast TV has seen in years, drawing 15.9 million viewers overall.

This year, Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love will depict a special Christmas when Parton’s father and his children sacrifice what they want for themselves so that he can buy Parton’s mother the wedding ring he could never afford to give her. At the same time, an influential figure in Parton’s life will start to realize that she is destined for musical stardom. Alyvia Alyn Lind is set to reprise her role as the young Parton, and Jennifer Nettles and Ricky Schroder will return as Parton’s parents.

While it's not clear yet exactly how she fits into the film, in a new interview with Vogue, Parton revealed that she was “just outside of Atlanta … working on a new Christmas movie.”

“We’re filming today and tomorrow,” Parton tells the magazine. “We’re just off a few days at home, and then I came down to do a little cameo part in the movie that’s coming out this Christmas, and then we’re back out on the road.”

The movie is part of a deal Parton struck with NBC to produce three separate films about her life. “We want to create projects for NBC that are both fun and inspirational with a family audience in mind," she said in announcing the deal.

Another film will be based based on another of her classic songs, “Jolene.”
