There are going to be several better days this fall, as country diva Dolly Parton has added an additional leg of fall dates to her tour itinerary. The singer will kick off two weeks of summer dates in Knoxville, Tenn. on July 17, which will wrap in Alpharetta, Ga. on August 8. Parton will then return to the U.S. for another batch of dates that begin Oct. 7 in Biloxi, Miss., running through Oct. 16 in Sarasota, Fla. Dolly fans in the south have reason to look forward to the fall, since she may be coming to your town.

The upcoming summer dates include back-to-back plays at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. This pair of gigs marks the first time Parton has ever performed at this legendary venue. Next week, a legend will collide with a legend when Parton takes the stage in L.A.

Parton is cognizant of the fact that she wants this batch of dates to be fresh and exciting, all the while providing fans with the classics that they want to hear. She believes she will achieve that balance, telling Taste of Country that “we’ve been on tour two or three times in the last few years, and I know it would be stale and kind of redundant to just do the same old things over and over. Of course I have to do the songs that you expect to hear, like ‘Jolene,’ ‘I Will Always Love You,’ ’9 to 5,’ ‘Coat of Many Colors’ … all of those songs are just givens.”

However, performing the “givens” doesn’t preclude her from trying something new and unpredictable to keep fans on the edge of their seats. There’s plenty of time in the set to cover it all, and that also includes choreography! Parton continued, “We have worked up some fun stuff, some little things that my fans have not had a chance to see me do. I even do a little bit of choreography that I’m not used to doing in my shows. And of course we’ve got some fun things where I interact a little more with the band, who will play different little instrumentals … but we’ve got some fun things and some surprises, I think!” The surprises will also include medleys and treats. All the more reason to head out to see Parton on tour this year!
