Drake White was no doubt "Livin' the Dream" on Monday morning (April 18) when he made his national television debut on Today with a performance of his current single.

"I have always loved the Today Show's great spirit while watching it from home over the years," White says in a press release.

White took the Today stage in the fourth hour of the show, which is hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. He and his band, the Big Fire, played a spirited performance of "Livin' the Dream" shortly after Kotb and Gifford introduced them to the national audience, asking White how he felt about making his big debut.

"We feel blessed. We're great! Great to be here," he said with a big smile as his mom, dad, mother-in-law, father-in-law and wife looked on from the studio audience.

Wearing his signature hat, bandana, jeans and vest, White kicked off the song while Kotb and Gifford could be seen dancing along nearby. All smiles toward the end of the song, the co-hosts brought up his wife, Alex, after the performance for a kiss.

"That was awesome!" Kotb exclaimed.

"Livin' the Dream" was written by Jaren Johnston of the Cadillac Three, Luke Laird and Tom Douglas, and White previously told Taste of Country that he immediately gravitated to the message within the lyrics.

“I loved the diversity in the title. It wasn’t tailgates and cold beer and whiskey, it was really about, ‘Hey, there is some heartache out there,’" he said. "It’s getting through that heartache and getting back up after it and seeing who’s around still that makes you realize, this life is what you make of it.”

On May 19, White will rejoin Zac Brown Band on their Black Out the Sun Tour.
