Dustin Lynch grew up just south of Nashville, but never went to the CMA Music Festival as a kid. It wasn't until he moved here full time at age 18 that he started attending. The 'Where It's At' singer remembers once sneaking backstage at one of the more popular venues.

“I snuck in backstage to the riverfront shows,” he admits before acknowledging that behind that particular venue is a river. “You gotta climb a fence … it’s not backstage, it’s the side of the stage."

Lynch talked to Taste of Country Nights host Sam Alex about the experience, adding that it was an Oak Ridge Boys and Neal McCoy show he took in from more comfortable confines.

"They have drinks and a little AC back there," he says.

In the interview above Lynch also talks about his recent vacation to the Bahamas (spearfishing anyone?) and his photo shoot for People's Sexiest Men of Country list.

“This particular crew, they were really wanting me to not wear any clothes,” he says about the pic with his shirt being held together by a single button. The issue is on stands now.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 50 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
