Dwight Yoakam, Kix Brooks, Laura Bell Bundy and the members of Rascal Flatts have all agreed to act in the upcoming Home Box Office Civil War-set mini-series 'To Appomattox,' which will reportedly begin filming in the spring of 2011.

The country musicians will be joined by television and big-screen stars such as 'Dexter''s Michael C. Hall, Paul Giamatti, Bill Paxton and D.B. Sweeney. The series has been described as a cross between previous HBO mini-series 'John Adams' and 'Band of Brothers,' and will reportedly draw a connection between Abraham Lincoln's unpopularity during the Civil War -- turns out he was accused of stealing the election -- with the fate of several recent presidents.

None of these country stars are strangers to the acting world. Bundy also appears in the popular show 'How I Met Your Mother,' Brooks has just wrapped a role in the upcoming movie 'Thriftstore Cowboy,' and Rascal Flatts played themselves in an episode of 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.'

Yoakam, in particular, has built an impressive film resume, appearing in a number of movies including 1996's 'Sling Blade,' 2005's comedy smash 'Wedding Crashers' and the utterly awesome 'Crank' action movie series.
