Dwight Yoakam is set to appear on an upcoming episode of Guitar Center Sessions, and Taste of Country readers are getting an early look at the episode via this exclusive video premiere.

The singer-songwriter just released his latest album, Second Hand Heart, in April, and he performs selections from the project on the show, including the title song, which fuses his retro-cool, edgy brand of country twang with rock influences for a sound that could only come from Dwight Yoakam. Clad in his signature stylish cowboy hat and flashy threads, Yoakam reminds once again why he's one of the most respected country artists of his generation with a performance that's entirely individualistic.

The album is the follow-up to 2012's 3 Pears, which marked Yoakam's return to Warner Bros. Nashville after a break from recording. Co-produced by Yoakam and Beck, the album spent more weeks at No. 1 on Americana radio than any other album of 2012, and appeared on more critics' Best of 2012 lists than any other country project of the year. Chris Lord-Alge and Yoakam co-produced Second Hand Heart.

Yoakam's Guitar Center Sessions episode is set to air in its entirety on Friday, June 19 at 9PM on DIRECTV's Audience Network (channel 239), as part of Season 10. The Telly Award-winning program features some of the top music makers from across all genres in intimate live performance and interviews, hosted by Nic Harcourt and presented in high definition and 5.1 surround sound.

Season 10 also includes performances and interviews with Lifehouse, the Offspring and Silversun Pickups, the Killers’ Brandon Flowers, Nick Jonas, indie darlings Best Coast and Hanni El Khatib and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jason Mraz.
