Dylan Schneider Shares ‘Grew Up Slower’ From New EP [Exclusive Premiere]

Dylan Schneider is set to release a new EP on Friday (April 14), and the singer-songwriter is sharing one of the new tracks, "Grew Up Slower," with Taste of Country readers before they can hear it anywhere else.

Schneider's Spotlight's on You EP is set to drop on Friday, and the 5-song project showcases songs Schneider wrote with some of the biggest songwriting names in contemporary country music, including Thomas Rhett, Chris DeStefano, Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure, Dallas Davidson and Ross Copperman.

Schneider wrote "Grew Up Slower" with Frasure and Josh Miller, and the song addresses his youth with humor and insight, blending strong writing with contemporary production for a track that offers a fresh sound, but still fits in with country radio.

"I'm really excited for fans to hear what I've been working on. I was able to collaborate with some songwriters I've looked up to for years. It's a project I'm proud of with songs I think fans will really identify with," Schneider tells Taste of Country.

The singer-songwriter is just 17 years old, but he demonstrates a maturity well beyond that. He thought he was headed for a career as a baseball player until he received a guitar for an early Christmas gift from his parents. An encouraging encounter with Brett Eldredge helped fuel Schneider's ambition, and he caught the attention of manager Sean Pace, who has helped Schneider develop a social media following of more than 600,000 fans, while his various videos have garnered more than 30 million views to date. Schneider released his debut EP, Wannabe, in July of 2016 and followed up with another EP titled 17 in October of that year.

He continues to think of his fans as he develops new content, music and tour dates for 2017.

"At the end of the day, I'm nothing without my fans," Schneider says. "When I'm writing, I'm thinking, 'How is this song going to sing live, and how will the audience react and identify?' What I do, most importantly, is for my fans. My job is to connect and show them a good time."
