Dylan Scott just got a new puppy, Brodie, and because of social media, he can now keep in touch with Brodie’s brother.

The artist tells Taste of Country Nights he posted a photo of the new addition — a GSP, which he explains stands for German Shorthaired Pointer — on Facebook, and after a few comments rolled in, he noticed one that intrigued him.

“She wrote,' I picked this one up last week,'” he says, which matched his own timeline picking up Brodie from Alabama. “I looked at her puppy and it looked just like my puppy.”

Scott remembered he’d saved photos from Brodie’s litter to his phone when he was looking for a dog, so he compared them.

“Sure enough, the dog she had is my dog’s brother.”

There's no word yet on whether the brothers will have a playdate together.

Scott says Brodie is a great fit for him, as they both have a lot of energy.

“He’s very hyper, and I’m very hyper. It’s like the perfect match,” he says, having had the pup three weeks now. “My wife doesn’t know what to think about it yet.”

Scott’s latest single “My Girl” is written about his wife, Blair, and he says it’s a very special song to him.

“We’ve been together since we were 15 and 16 years old,” he says. “We went to school with each other since we were in 7th grade and started dating in 10th grade, and we’ve been together ever since.”

The song is climbing the charts quickly, which Scott admits was a shock to him.

“When we got inside Top 30 it was like, ‘this is great -- I get to enjoy the 30s but Top 20 will take a little while.’ It took like two or three weeks, which was insane,” he remembers.
