Kat Country 102 caught up with Eli Young Band bassist Jon Jones recently while he was in Nashville on vacation. The Texas native opened up about the success of the band's latest single, 'Crazy Girl,' and EP with the same name, and spilled that the foursome is itching to pop their new album, due in August.

"We're just kind of gearing up for the summer and hoping to release the record here in August, and things are good," Jones says. "We're super, super busy, so it's nice to get a couple days off. I think we're on the road non-stop here until the record comes out."

The 'Crazy Girl' EP dropped last month and soared to the No. 1 spot on iTunes, but fans have been waiting on a full-length EP from the band for quite some time. "The album has been done for a long time," Jones admits. "This is the first time that we recorded an album and kind of had to sit on it for awhile. Just to have the timing right, you don't want to put an album out when all of the major acts are putting one out or you can't get any visibility. So, we've been trying to play as many songs live as we can to kind of get the music out there. It's definitely time, it's been a long time since 'Jet Black & Jealous' came out, so we are ready to get some new music out there."

It has been a long time since the band's successful third album, 'Jet Black & Jealous,' which hit back in 2008 and churned hit singles like 'When it Rains' and 'Guinevere,' among others. But we won't have to wait too much longer for the band's fourth record -- straight from the horse's mouth: it will be out in August.
