The ever-unpredictable Eric Church surprised fans in Orange Beach, Ala. on June 12 with a special acoustic set prior to his usual show on the Outsiders World Tour, turning the night into a marathon 28-song performance for the crowd.

The artist treated the record 10,021 fans at the Amphitheater on the Wharf to a 45-minute stripped-down, intimate opening act and went on to play for nearly three hours total, much to the audience’s delight. The attendance at this show was the fifth record set by the artist on the tour, which was ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Tours list.

Church has promised fans no two shows will be exactly alike on the tour, and this set was no exception. His commitment to giving audiences a unique experience and keeping the tour interesting is reflective of the creativity and edgy attitude that make Church a front runner in country music. His dedication to fans has been clearly evident on this tour, including a date back in January during which he carried on the show as a solo act when most of his band and crew came down with the flu.

Church followed up the show in Orange Beach with subsequent impressive shows, including Nashville’s CMA Fest on June 14.
