Eric Church has been up all night lately, he told Sam Alex of Taste of Country Nights before the 2015 ACM Awards, but it’s not due to throwing back one too many or partying too hard. These days, it’s diapers and middle-of-the-night wakeup calls for the now father of an infant and a preschooler.

“It’s funny, my 2-month-old is now startin’ to sleep pretty good, and my 3-year-old is startin' to wake up two or three times a night,” Church muses. “They’re teamin’ up."

Transitioning from one to two can be difficult both for parents and the older sibling, but Church says his oldest, Boone, is doing alright since little Tennessee Hawkins ("Hawk") was born in February.

“Any time you introduce a new kid — the oldest had a little bit of a problem when he had all the attention and all of a sudden he doesn’t have all the attention, but he’s doin’ a good job,” Church explains.

The country star was nominated for three ACM Awards at the 50th annual ceremony this year, including Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year ("Give Me Back My Hometown") and Album of the Year (The Outsiders).
