The setlist for Eric Church’s upcoming tour won’t just be a greatest hits lineup. The singer tells Taste of Country he’s going to dig deeper to find the songs that have really affected fans.

“I go back to the very beginning, and the ones that people have attached to will will be the ones that are in the set every night,” he tells Taste of Country in the video above. An example is a song like ‘These Boots’ from the ‘Sinners Like Me’ album.

“It’s not always the songs that were our biggest radio or commercial hits.”

Details of what fans can expect from the Outsiders Tour are beginning to trickle out. Each show — beginning with his Sept. 11 date in Bossier City, La. — will be unique, based on the audience and what they want to hear. Church says he looks forward to not knowing what he’s doing until he gets there.

“We’ve waited our entire career to put on this tour,” the ‘Give Me Back My Hometown’ singer says. “Anybody who’s ever seen us before … I think it’s going to be something that people will say is the best they’ve seen.”

The promise of a 360 degree experience inside the venue is certainly unique, and other details will make it a truly one-of-a-kind experience. But he’s not giving away his secrets yet. Dwight Yoakam will open every show, while new country duo Brothers Osborne, singer Brandy Clark and rock band Halestorm will open select shows. Tickets go on sale April 18.
