Eric Paslay’s successful career is being noticed by his alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University.

On March 15, after his Opry performance, the singer was honored by the school with the MTSU Young Alumni Achievement Award. The award honors a graduate 35 years old or under who has exhibited outstanding achievement in career, public service, and/or volunteer activities and is selected annually by the board from submissions from alumni, faculty, staff and friends.

Paslay performed some of his latest tunes at his Opry show, including his new single “High Class” and “She Don’t Love You,” which is nominated for Song of the Year at the upcoming ACM Awards, hosted by Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan. He just released a fun music video for “High Class” laced with cameos from recognizable country stars, in which he also shows off his dance skills and increasingly-present swagger. The tune is the lead-off single to his forthcoming sophomore record.

The singer-songwriter has been on the Crushin’ It Tour with Brad Paisley, on which he and fellow opener Cam took the opportunity to prank the prank master when he dressed up as the “Burning House” singer, complete with a curly blonde wig and a yellow T-shirt, lip-syncing to her guest part on Paisley’s duet “Whiskey Lullaby.” The results were not pretty, but it made for a laugh to close out Cam's run on Paisley's tour.
