Why: The two-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year beat out some tough competition to be named the best at letter 'F.' There weren't many female artists more popular during the early-to-mid-80s than the 'It Ain't Easy Bein' Easy' singer. She scored six No. 1 hits in the span of three years and would go on to notch over 20 Top 20 hits including 'Tell Me a Lie' and 'Always Have, Always Will.'

Honorable Mentions: Flatt & Scruggs, Lefty Frizzell and Freddy Fender.
