Just in time for Super Bowl Sunday, country superstar Faith Hill will join forces with rock legends the Pretenders for a special live show entitled 'CMT Crossroads: The Pretenders and Faith Hill Live From the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam.'

This will be the first time either act has appeared on the long-running show, which combines different country and rock bands to perform each other's songs. It's not as big a stretch as you might think for Chrissie Hynde and her bandmates, creators of new wave rock songs such as 'Brass in Pocket' and 'Middle of the Road.'

That's because the Pretenders' most recent record, 2008's 'Break Up the Concrete,' featured a distinct country-rock sound. So much so, in fact, that they added a pedal steel player to the band for the tour supporting the album.

Hill recently contributed the sultry song 'Give In to Me' to the soundtrack for the country music-themed film 'Country Strong.' Hynde stepped out from the Pretenders last year to record an excellent album named 'Fidelity' with a new band called J.P., Chrissie and the Fairground Boys.

'CMT Crossroads: The Pretenders and Faith Hill Live From the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam' will air at 10PM ET on Saturday, Feb. 5, the night before the big game.
