Faith Hill and Tim McGraw may be country royalty, but they experience the same things as any other parents do. Recently the couple's second daughter, Maggie, went off to college, following her older sister Gracie. The country singers admit that even thinking about saying goodbye was really difficult for them.

"It was tough,” Hill begins in an interview with 99.5 WYCD.

"We were scared to even engage in conversation because we knew we would sort of, just fall apart,” McGraw adds.

The experiences are bittersweet, because the couple knew it was also an exciting time to see their daughters go forth to conquer the world.

"It was painful (to say goodbye)," McGraw furthers, "But, in a way it made us sad, but made us happy as well."

"When we were moving Maggie into her dorm — and the same thing happened with Gracie when we moved her into her dorm when she went to school — I mean, 30 minutes after being in there and moving things in they were trying to kick us out," he recalls.

He acknowledges that that’s how you know it’s right, though, and makes it a tiny bit easier to let go. "It makes you feel better, when you think about it, 'cause you know they're ready and they're confident,” the star concludes.

The power couple just announced they will be touring together — something they revealed in no small way. They booked a surprise show together at the historic Ryman under the names Sam & Audrey (both of their actual first names), and broke the news just a few hours prior to ticket sales that it was actually Hill and McGraw. The show brought the official announcement about the upcoming tour, the Soul2Soul World Tour. The 65-city run begins in April 2017, wrapping in October.
