Florida Georgia Line Share Album Details, Stupid Purchase Story
Florida Georgia Line say their next album will be a more mature album. Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard say their third album is going to be a coming of age album that reflects where they are in life.
“It’s a man album in a way,” Kelley tells Taste of Country, explaining that fans may find a few married guy songs on the still-unannounced and untitled disc.
“Married guys who still like to party ... for sure,” Hubbard adds. “It feels good.”
Look for the album in August, with a single coming later this month, the ACM Vocal Duo of the Year winners say. A music video will drop the same day — those who've heard the first single have almost unanimously proclaimed it a hit. That includes select media FGL shared some of their songs with earlier this year.
“It’s the perfect evolution,” Kelley says. “I think, really honestly, we’ve tried as best we can to be as transparent as we can with our lyrics and our music and record and write exactly where we’re at and then release it.”
On Friday night (April 1), Florida Georgia Line celebrated several No. 1 songs in Las Vegas, and learned that their hit song "Cruise" had gone diamond for 10 million singles sold. It was the first country song to do that, and as a result the men have a little more money in their pockets than they did five years ago. Have they wasted any of it?
Absolutely, Hubbard says with no regrets.
“I spent a ridiculous amount of money on a really awesome toilet,” the long-haired FGL singer says. “It has heated seats, it has music, lights. When you walk up to it, the seat automatically comes up so my wife loves it.”
“It has a little sprinkler system if you will,” he adds, referring to a bidet. “It’s a really dumb purchase that I really like.”
The duo talked to Taste of Country during the 2016 ACM Awards Westwood One remotes. Once again they're part of Outnumber Hunger, a campaign to fight hunger in the United States. Fans can purchase select General Mills products and type in the code at the Outnumber Hunger website to secure five meals for their local food bank. It's a campaign Kelley and Hubbard have been a part of for years, as they say they continue to be upset by how big a problem finding meals is for people in America.
