Two country guitar slingers will square off in this Showdown song battle after Frankie Ballard topped Chuck Wicks earlier this week. The Michigan native's new song 'Sunshine & Whiskey' is up against Jon Pardi and his Bakersfield-inspired 'What I Can't Put Down.'

Of the two, Ballard is the one with a more contemporary sound. Pardi's new song is a pure country rambler that rides on the back of a guitar lick with a smoke stack. Fans will decide which song is better. The winner will move on to the next round on Friday.

Listen to clips of both Ballard’s and Pardi’s songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Friday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Friday.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
