Garth Brooks has been added to the performers for the 2014 American Music Awards.

The country icon is currently on the road on his massive comeback tour, with a concert date in Greensboro, N.C. on the books the same night as the awards ceremony. As a result, Brooks will perform via satellite on the broadcast, which is set to air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Nov. 23.

Brooks is also nominated for Favorite Album - Country for his 'Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influence' box set, facing competition from Eric Church and Brantley Gilbert.

Other country categories for the mainstream awards show include Favorite Band, Duo or Group, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Male Artist. Luke Bryan is also nominated in the all-genre Artist of the Year category.
