Garth Brooks fans expecting a big announcement on Monday morning are going to have to wait a few more days. Instead of big news, the singer revealed an official press conference scheduled for Thursday (July 10).

Few details about what the press conference will include were made available. We do know, however, that it will stream live at GarthBrooks.com beginning at 12PM ET.

Last week, the country superstar teased fans with a message reading “The wait is over.” He promised more details on July 7, and most speculated he was going to reveal a world tour. Last December, Brooks said he’d be touring in 2014, but aside from five shows in Ireland, nothing else has been announced.

Two of the five Ireland shows have been scrapped, and the remaining three are being threatened. "I have faith that Dublin City Council will make the best decision for the people of Ireland," Brooks said last week. "For us, it is five shows or none at all.”

On Sunday night, he added: “To choose which shows to do and which shows not to do would be like asking to choose one child over another."

Fans and city officials are currently scrambling to find a solution before the first show later this month. It's not clear if Brooks pushed his big announcement because of the issue in Ireland, or if he'd planned to announce a press conference all along.
