Garth Brooks performed a record-breaking headlining set on Sunday (March 18) at RodeoHouston.

The country legend played to an impressive 75,577 people, breaking the attendance record from the previous Sunday during Go Tejano Day by just 12 concertgoers. Brooks' show was memorable and included a surprise appearance by Trisha Yearwood, who joined him to duet on "In Another's Eyes." She stuck around to perform her previous hit "She's in Love With the Boy."

The Houston Chronicle raved about Brooks' energetic delivery, saying: "It crackled with more excitement and urgency ... and the crowd was even more invested in every moment."

The Untold Story of "Friends in Low Places"

"I love this place," Brooks remarked during his set. "It's the only place that's big ass and still feels like a small place."

Brooks was the closing performer at 2018 RodeoHouston, but he was also the opening act. His performance last month was the first time he'd played the mega rodeo since 1993, and he broke in the stadium's new star-shaped rotating stage — the first stage upgrade to Houston's rodeo in 31 years. The country icon told the crowd on Sunday that he made a handshake deal that he'd love to come back for the 100th anniversary of RodeoHouston ... if he can still walk.

Of course, Brooks is no stranger to setting records. His record-setting, three-year world tour has sold over 6.3 million tickets, making it the biggest North American tour and biggest ever by a solo artist. He is also the first artist to receive seven RIAA diamond awards for albums sales of more than 10 million per album and the No. 1 selling U.S. solo artist with over 148 million albums sold.
