Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood to Host ACM Lifting Lives Benefit Gala
The country couple will host the One Night, Two Cities, All Music gala on April 17. The first-ever fundraising concert will benefit the Academy of Country Music's charitable arm, ACM Lifting Lives, featuring performances by some of the top acts in country music.
They will perform both there and at the gala taking place simultaneously at the Fort Worth Zoo, which will also include performances from nominees Keith Urban and Little Big Town. Entertainment Tonight's Nancy O'Dell will be on hand to co-host the Fort Worth gala. ACM Lifting Lives has partnered with Mattress Firm for the events.
“The Academy has an almost 50-year history of charitable giving and wonderful relationships with Garth and Trisha," Bob Romeo, CEO of the Academy of Country Music, says in a press release. "When Garth called about hosting this event, it was the culmination of years of hard work, and furthers the missions of our organizations — healing through the power of music, and improving lives by connecting fans, artists and the industry."
Proceeds from the fundraising event will benefit several Texas-based organizations, including Brooks’ charity, Teammates for Kids, and the Child Life Zones in Children’s Health of Dallas and Cook Children’s of Fort Worth.
