6. Strait Didn't Think 'Living and Living Well' Was a Hit

Artists are frequently asked which hits from other singers they have turned down, but USA Today asked George Strait which song of his own that he initially thought he should have turned down. As it turns out, the singer isn't always as confident in his own material as it would seem.

"Obviously, I was wrong, because it went to No. 1. I just didn't think it was strong," Strait says of the 2002 hit. Another kernel learned from this rare interview: Strait can't remember all his own hits. The King struggled to come up with the name of the song. "I've cut a lot of songs man," he jokes.
