Hundreds of thousands of country fans cast a vote during the 2015 Taste of Country Awards, and while none of the nine categories were unanimous, the Live Act of the Year Award was close. George Strait was the overwhelming winner.

The King nearly tripled the second place artist. Luke Bryan took a very respectable 20 percent of the vote, followed by Eric Church, Keith Urban and Garth Brooks. Strait was nominated on the strength of his Cowboy Rides Away Tour, which closed his touring career in June.

Prior to today, Strait had never won a Taste of Country Award. The annual, online, fan-voted awards close their fourth year with the most votes ever -- and more winners than ever. The ‘I Got a Car’ singer’s award ends a year that included and ACM Entertainer of the Year award, as well as a hit on ToC’s Top 10 Songs of 2014 list.
