On Thursday (Oct. 10), 'Glee' will pay tribute to late actor Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the musical series. One of the songs being performed as part of the tribute is the Band Perry's breakthrough ballad 'If I Die Young.' Singer Kimberly Perry is excited that the song she wrote is being used, since she believes that it will memorialize the actor's life, rather than focus on his death.

Monteith passed away in July 2013 at the tender age of 31 following a drug overdose, which broke the hearts of his fans, castmates and many in Hollywood. It was tragic since he was so young, and that point will be demonstrated when Naya Rivera, who plays Santana, sings the country trio's song.

"I'm so excited that song is being used that way because even though it has 'die' in the title, it was really inspired by and about celebrating life," Perry explains of the hit that made her band a household name. "I obviously haven't seen the episode that's a tribute to Cory, but I feel like they're going to focus on his life rather than his death, so I'm really excited that 'If I Die Young' is going to be part of honoring him."

Fans of 'Glee' and the Band Perry are encouraged to watch, but with tissues close at hand.
